Stéphane Brizé, known for his films "Mademoiselle Chambon," "A Life," and "The Measure of a Man," presents us once again with a political film. In this extraordinary movie, renowned actor Vincent Lindon portrays a worker spokesperson who is outspoken, resistant, and unafraid to raise his voice, as he observes the struggle of 1,100 workers in a factory facing closure, fighting to protect their jobs. Brizé interviewed workers, human resources managers, CEOs, and lawyers representing both workers and employers, in order to incorporate contrasting perspectives into the film. Competing for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, "At War" examines, as Brizé puts it, "the human dimension compared to the economic dimension: Can these two worlds possibly intersect? Can they coexist side by side in these times?"
